Every year, the Louisville Visual Art Association partners with the University of Louisville Hite Art Institute to host a high-end art auction to raise funds for LVAA's children’s fine art classes and U of L's Mary Spence Nay Scholarship. This year, they're adding an art sale on the morning of the auction.
The By-Bye-Buy Art Sale begins at LVAA’s @PUBLIC Gallery, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, April 13.
The Louisville Visual Art Association’s new downtown gallery is open. As part of its downtown relocation, LVAA has opened a gallery called Public in Whiskey Row Lofts (131 W. Main St.). The first invitational exhibit, "Public @ Public," features fifteen local artists who created new work illuminated by lightboxes exploring the public theme.
The Louisville Visual Art Association's Open Doors Program will celebrate two years of community-based arts projects with a retrospective exhibit, “Making Art. Changing Lives.”
Twelve art projects, selected from nearly forty pieces of art completed through the program, will be on view to the public in the Water Tower, with an opening reception on July 22. The exhibit will run through August 19.
