Louisville pianist and composer Rachel Grimes (Rachel's, Kings Daughters and Sons) is the latest musician to perform at the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft this month.
The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft opens a month-long celebration of the new exhibit “Storytelling as Craft, Chapter One” tomorrow with oral and visual stories. The exhibit runs through November 11.
In Stanley Kubrick’s “2001: A Space Odyssey,” a shiny black monolith appears to a group of prehistoric apes. The monolith communicates with the apes, and they learn how to use tools, and eventually evolve into human beings.
Fast-forward to the 21st century, and the monolith reappears in Louisville with the smell of warm alfalfa hay.
The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft is extending the 50 Years of Studio Glass exhibit through July 29. The exhibition celebrates the first half-century of the studio art glass movement in the United States. It's part of a national effort that includes live glass demonstrations, lectures and exhibits at museums and universities across the country.
