College Football: U of L Beats Missouri State; UK Notches First Win

The Louisville Cards improved to 2-0 on the season with a 35-7 victory today over visiting Missouri State.

Teddy Bridgewater threw two touchdown  passes, U of L’s running backs added two more scores and Matthew Nakatani kicked two field goals for the 23rd ranked Cards.   The Bears dropped to 0-2.

U of L faces North Carolina next week at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. 

The Kentucky Wildcats rolled over Kent State 47-14 in Lexington. UK evens its record to 1-1 and will host Western Kentucky next Saturday night

College Football: Cards Host Missouri State; UK Looking For First Win

The Louisville Cardinals return to college football action tomorrow, hosting Missouri State.

The 23rd ranked Cards are coming off a season-opening victory over Kentucky.

Senior center Mario Benavides  says he’s not worried about his team becoming complacent against the unranked Bears, who were trounced by Kansas State last week 51-9.

U of L Moves Up In College Football Polls

The University of Louisville football team has risen two places in the latest Associated Press national rankings.

The Cards are 23rd in this week’s poll, up from 25th going into their season opener against Kentucky.    U of L is 24thin the latest USA Today/coaches poll after being unranked last week.

Cards Beat Wildcats 32-14

The Governor's Cup will remain in Louisville for another year.

The Louisville Cards defeated the Kentucky Wildcats 32-14 today as the programs renewed their rivalry for the 25th time.

It was Louisville's second straight victory over Kentucky but the first at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium since 2006.

U of L running back Jeremy Wright ran for three touchdowns and sophomore quarterback Teddy Bridgewater passed for 232 yards.

Senorise Perry added a 47 yard touchdown run for the Cards, and John Wallace kicked a 22 yard field goal.
