It's the Home Finale for Joker Phillips, 19 Seniors as UK Faces Samford

Joker Phillips will coach the final home game of his University of Kentucky football head coaching tenure tomorrow as the Wildcats host Samford.

Phillips is being let go after three years on the job. He’ll coach UK’s two final games of the season.

He told reporters this week that he hopes his successor will be given plenty of time to build the program into a national contender.

College Football: U of L 27, USF 25; UK Falls to Georgia 29-24

In college football, the Louisville Cardinals came from behind late in the game to edge South Florida 27-25 Saturday at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

U of L led 14-3 at halftime, but the Bulls came back to claim a 25-21 lead with just over three minutes to play in the fourth quarter.

The Cards retook the lead with a Teddy Bridgewater touchdown pass to Eli Rogers and South Florida was unable to score on its final possession.

U of L improves to 7-0 overall and 2-0 in the Big East Conference. The Cards will host Cincinnati Friday night.

College Football: U of L vs USF, UK-Georgia, IU at Navy

After three straight road games, the University of Louisville football team returns to Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium Saturday.

The 14th ranked Cards take on South Florida, which has struggled to a 2-4 record this season. Coach Charlie Strong’s team is 6-0 and coming off a 45-35 win at Pittsburgh last weekend, but Strong says there’s still plenty of room for improvement, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

UK Unveils New Tailgating Plan For Students

The University of Kentucky has released new rules for tailgating to address concerns over fighting and disorderly behavior in areas near Commonwealth Stadium. The new plan will be in effect for Saturday's game against Georgia.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports that the area where students are allowed to tailgate will be expanded but it will be closed off an hour after the game's kickoff.

College Football: U of L 45, Pitt 35; Arkansas 49, UK 7; OSU 52, IU 49

Louisville’s Senorise Perry ran for four touchdowns and quarterback Teddy Bridgewater threw for 304 yards and another score to lead the Cards to a 45-35 victory at Pittsburgh today.

The Panthers led 21-17 at halftime but U of L scored three quick touchdowns in the third quarter to grab the lead for good and win their Big East Conference opener. They also snapped a four-game losing streak to Pitt.

The 16th ranked Cardinals remain undefeated at 6-0 and are bowl-eligible for the third straight season.
