In a season when Kentucky may not have much March Madness representation, a team from Kentucky will play a team with strong Louisville ties Monday night for an NCAA Tournament berth.

The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers and the Florida International Golden Panthers tipoff at 7 p.m. Eastern in an unlikely Sun Belt Conference Tournament Championship game. The winner gets an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

In college basketball, the Louisville Cardinals return to action tomorrow for an eagerly awaited rematch with Notre Dame.

The Irish beat the Cardinals in five overtimes last month in South Bend.

This is the Cards regular season finale and, and coach Rick Pitino says it’s probably the most important home game of his 12 seasons in Louisville.

The Louisville Cards have moved up this week in both the Associated Press and USA Today men’s college basketball polls.

U of L is number eight in the AP survey, up two spots from last week.   The Cards are sixth in the USA Today coaches poll, up from ninth last week.

Gonzaga captured the top spot in both polls.  The Zags are the number one team for the first time in school history.

Indiana dropped to second in both surveys after losing at Minnesota last week.

The Louisville Cards are back on the road this weekend. 

U of L visits Syracuse in the teams’ second matchup of the year.   The Orange won the first game January 19th in Louisville by two points.

This is the final regular season road game for the Cards.  They have two more home games next week against Cincinnati and Notre Dame.

Saturday's  tipoff at the Carrier Dome is at noon.

The Louisville Cardinals basketball teams will don camouflage pants for the Big East Tournament, starting on March 8 for the women's team and March 12 for the men's team.

Also, the men's uniforms have short sleeves.

The uniforms come from Adidas and are being called the "adizero uniform system."

Indiana is No. 1 in the Associated Press men’s college basketball poll for the fourth straight week, while Gonzaga moved to No. 2 for the first time in school history.

The teams also have the top two spots in the USA Today coaches poll, followed by Duke and Michigan.   Miami and Kansas are number five in the AP and coaches polls, respectively.
