With the country closing in on Election Day, Louisville Repertory Company opens Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet’s presidential election-year farce “November” this week.  

“November” opens Friday and runs through Nov. 2  in the Kentucky Center’s MeX Theatre.

In the book's introduction, Howard quotes songwriter Harlan Howard when he writes, “if there is a creed that defines roots music, it is that it consists of ‘three chords and a truth.’”

Louisville actors, directors and designers aren't hurting for play projects, but they are hurting for space.  

The Frazier History Museum’s historical interpreters are bringing the haunting stories and poems of Edgar Allan Poe to life. This is the third year the Frazier has staged “An Evening with Poe,” and the program changes every fall. The show opens Wednesday evening. 

This year’s bill, which the Frazier has tagged "An Even Edgier Poe," includes haunted perennial favorites “The Raven” and “The Bells” as well as the grisly short stories “The Murders in the Rue Morgue” and “The Masque of the Red Death.”
