Former Sen. Lugar Joins IU Faculty

Former Sen. Richard Lugar will join former Congressman Lee Hamilton as a professor in Indiana University's new School of Global and International Studies.

The pairing announced Thursday in Bloomington gives the school two of the foremost U.S. authorities on foreign relations.

The Herald-Times reports Lugar also will donate his Senate papers to the Herman B Wells Library on the Bloomington campus.

IU Unveils Tuition Break For "On Time" Grads

Indiana University students who graduate within four years could pay less tuition than those who take longer under a plan unveiled this week by President Michael McRobbie.

The on-time completion award program will freeze tuition for students after their sophomore year if they are on track to graduate in four years.

The program takes effect next fall.

Former Indiana Chief Justice To Lead U.S. Legal Education Panel

Former Indiana Supreme Court Justice Randall Shepard will lead a task force looking into the state of legal education across America.

The panel was appointed by the American Bar Association. Shepard says it will examine the way schools prepare their students to practice law, and the economic state of the profession.
