WHY NOW?? Can one of you frustrated constitution defenders answer that one simple question… WHY NOW??
Bush led us unto an unecessary war that Wolfowitz waid would cost us 1.5 billion max… but in reality it actually costs us 10 billion per month and counting. But none of you freedom fighters were out there protesting that waste of money.
Where was your concern when Haliburtion lost 12 BILLLION DOLLARS of tax payer money as a result of no bid contracts for the Iraq clean up?
Where was your concern for the constitution when Bush gave the ok to eavesdrop on ordinary citizens w/o a warrant?
Where was your concern when Bush suspended Habius Corpus in the name of fighting terrorism? Where was all this concern for the constitution? Utter nonsense thats all this is. Sour grapes, sore losers.

I attend all significant rallies in the area, including Mexican, Biden, Palin and Obama because I prefer to know the facts, not someone’s spin. It’s interesting to me that at this rally, there was no litter, no drugs, no obscenities, no abandoned signs or flags, no used condoms, no fecal matter left behind as there are at leftist gatherings. I have more than 100 photos which include all the signs held during the time I was there. The theme was primarily about intrusive government and the debt that will impoverish our children and grandchildren. The park was packed, sidewalk to sidewalk and people came and went. 1300 people signed a petition. Taxes are merely a symptom of the inexorable slow march toward socialism which has accelerated under this administration. That is what the tea parties are about.

And by the way: leftists accuse the “Teabaggers” (an obscene term, unknown to most before this week) of racism. The truth is that for most of us, the only good thing about Obama is his color. Appeasement, socialism, shaming and blaming America have nothing to do with the Constitution, a copy of which most of us own and cherish.

When billions and billions of USA taxpayer dollars were going to Iraq to prop up a heathen government on an invasion that was falsely identified, yet there were no protestors in the street.

I’m going to assume that’s after the invasion itself, in which case, bang on. On the other hand, more than 10 million marched against the invasion of Iraq, and the government did it any way; so why the Sam Hill does anyone think they’ll act because one percent of that number are protesting now?

Just asking.

We, the American people are saying we’re fed up with big government, big spending, and being taxed to death. This is not a Republican party issue, it cuts across political party lines. It’s a perfectly legitimate way of expressing what we think, and it was a real grass roots effort organized through the internet, not by politicians. Too many of the liberal news outlets (which are unfortunately the majority) didn’t bother to cover the TEA party, tried to downplay it, or distorted the facts to make it seem something it wasn’t.

Give me a break.

Now, with the best idea, to rescue THE USA economic system, the Tea Party is a GOP stealth stunt to keep the stimulus package in the eyes of the taxpayers, so it can become a campaign issue later.

Boy, I would have loved to see Richard Nixon speak on this issue.

I am disappointed in the coverage of Louisville’s Tea Party. NPR chose to highlight the fringe groups and completely ignored the bigger message. Campaign for Liberty was there spreading the message about HR1207 to audt the Federal Reserve. CFL gave an amazing speech which hopefully awakened some folks to this privately held, non-federal, non-reserve system called the Federal Reserve that burdens our country. I hope CFL got a lot of signatures on the petition that NPR failed to mention.

People know there is something wrong with the way our money is being used. They see Obama appoint the same folks who caused this problem. They see him bail out the banksters who donated to his campaign, the same ones who caused this problem in the first place. Most people don’t know what to call this and their reaction is to resort to words like fascist and socialist.

Is that so?

Article 1, Section 9

“No money shall be drawn from the treasury, but in consequence of appropriations made by law; and a regular statement and account of receipts and expenditures of all public money shall be published from time to time.”

By the use of the term, “but in consequence of appropriations made by law”, the document is refering to itself, not the actions of Congress that contridict it. Also, the statement “a regular statement and account of receipts and expenditures of *all* public money shall be published from time to time” is blatantly violated by the lack of auditing TARP funds.

So Katie, before you speak your mind, I recommend that you read up on the subjects for which you hold opinions.

Give me a break, it is a group of people that are just saying enough. We do have reps. so its not tax without, but it is tax without proper rep. Its not about one person in government, its about Government. Its about the lack of the government doing what the people ask it to do. Its about taxing me until my children’s children can’t pay it off. Open your eyes its the people speaking.

I think this is an awfully big collection of people who have no flipping clue what they’re talking about. They don’t know what the Boston Tea Party was or the reasons behind it. They don’t understand democratic process set up under the U.S. Constitution. They obviously haven’t read the Constitution, so are unaware that there is nothing being done to this point (at least with TARP) that is unconstitutional.

They also don’t know the meaning of fascism or socialism, or understand why comparing Obama to Hilter is insulting to Hitler’s victims. Yeah. Because a guy who killed MILLIONS and tortured millions more in a horrific genocide is really comparable to a guy whose political policies you’re not such a big fan of.

Get a grip…and an education.
